Fewell, Giants discuss def. coord. job (AP)

Rodgers-Cromartie back, Boldin still out (AP)
Starting cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie returned to practice for the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday, but wide receiver Anquan Boldin remained sidelined because of a sprained left ankle. Although he was listed as limited in the workout, Rodgers-Cromartie says he was at full speed and felt good.

Tim Davey, the NFL's director of football operations, has died. He was 58. Davey was an employee of the New York Jets and the NFL for a total of 33 years. He died on Wednesday. Browns’ Mangini, Holmgren meet again (AP)
Eric Mangini will return for a second season as coach of the Cleveland Browns. Ware misses practice, expected to play (AP)
Dallas Pro Bowl linebacker DeMarcus Ware missed practice Thursday because of a sore back. The problem isn't considered serious and Ware is expected to play in Saturday night's home playoff game against Philadelphia. Ware, who has 11 sacks, has played with a fracture in his wrist for much of the season.

Colts go with K Stover over Vinatieri (AP)
Indianapolis has decided to use kicker Matt Stover instead of Adam Vinatieri during this year's playoffs. Colts coach Jim Caldwell said Thursday that Stover had done a "great" job since joining the Colts after Vinatieri had knee surgery on his kicking leg in October. Caldwell said Vinatieri is not yet 100 percent.
