Colts’ Freeney, Powers sit out practice (AP)

Dwight Freeney and Jerraud Powers both have sat out the Colts' Super Bowl practice in South Florida. All-Pro defensive end Freeney has a torn ligament in his right ankle and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against New Orleans. Rookie cornerback Powers has a left foot injury. Colts’ Freeney says ankle pain subsiding (AP)

Dwight Freeney says the pain in his sprained right ankle is subsiding and he still hopes play in Sunday's Super Bowl. The Colts' All-Pro defensive end said Wednesday that in addition to using an oxygen tent, he has been walking barefoot and in the Florida sand to strengthen the ankle. It appears to be working.
