San Diego Chargers Information
With their home ground at the Qualcomm Stadium , California , San Diego Chargers is a Western Division AFC team that plays in uniform of gold, navy blue and white. The team which signed up with AFL in 1960 was founded by Barron Hilton. They won the division championships from 1960 to ‘65, but still suffered heavy economic losses that compelled them to shift their base to San Diego from LA where they actually originated. From mid 60s onwards, the Chargers however relapsed into a phase of mediocrity with a few intermittent individual performances.
Throughout the 70s, they failed to make their mark in the playoffs and maintained a low profiled record until in the 1994 season, when they earned a berth for the Super Bowl but were flattened by the San Francisco 49ers.
